Directions:

Walking:
The Coast to Coast route passes about three miles to the north of HerdyHuts.

Road:
From north of the Lake District: head towards Ambleside, then a few minutes after passing Grasmere, take the first left uphill after the Glen Rothay Hotel. Continue uphill past Rydal Hall, around a steep bend, and HerdyHuts are through a wooden gate on the right.

From south of the Lake District: head towards Ambleside, then about a mile after leaving the town, take the turning right uphill, signposted ‘Rydal Hall’. Continue uphill past Rydal Hall, around a steep bend, and HerdyHuts are through a wooden gate on the right.
